L’Oreal True Match Eye Cream in a Concealer is hitting the market this month. If you can’t find it in a drugstore near you now, it will be there soon. The True Match line has a star and that star product as always been the foundation. True Match Foundation with SPF, it is a very pigmented but still light foundation. It is just a beautiful foundation especially when you consider it is only $9.00 for an ounce. Nothing else has come close to the star of the show in this line.
I think L’oreal is hoping to at least get a great co-star with the True Match Eye Cream in a Concealer. They did try it before with the True Match Blendable Concealer or something like that but it is an okay concealer. It has good pigment but so do a lot of concealers out there. This a difference that stands out with this new concealer they have added a humectant, namely hyaluronic acid.
Hyaluronic Acid – is found naturally in the skin (eyes, joints, fluid in the body, and connective tissue) as well. It has a very high capacity for holding water. That is why it has become so popular in skincare products in recent years. It has the ability to hold moisture and water content in your skin.
This ingredient is a big buzz word right now and it is a great humectant and heaven knows as we get older the eyes can use all of the help they can get. We all just look tired as we age. Everyone is looking to brighten up those eyes. Hyaluronic acid is an ingredient that works for the purpose of hydrating this skin and the pigment works for brightening.
I don’t really know if 5% is a good percentage of hyaluronic acid to use in a product of this amount. It is only .4 oz. Most products don’t advertise the percentages of their ingredients so I would assume it is a good amount of hyaluronic acid.
I think this would be a great concealer for anyone to try out for the price point of $15.00. I know that seems a bit high. But my beloved IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Concealer is $29.00 for the same amount. It also contains hyaluronic acid, but it also contains one of my favorite ingredients, Niacinamide, and a few other ingredients. Is it worth the price point difference? I don’t know at this point.
I do know that drugstore concealers are moving in the right direction with this True Match Eye Cream in a Concealer. It is always a good thing when makeup is formulated with ingredients that used to only be in high-end products and are good for our skin. Caring for our skin should be the start of any product.
