A good cleansing balm is essential in skin cleansing routine. Yes, I think that the double cleanse method is one of the most effective at removing all makeup and cleansing the skin.

I promised that I would review some more cleansing balms, in different price ranges with great ingredients, so here is a great cleansing balm, Yes to Coconut, Coconut oil Cleansing Balm.

About my skin

I have combination/dry in the winter and I have combination/oily in the summer. I have sensitive skin with rosacea. The rosacea is mild, but that may be because I do try to take good care of it or it might just be that it is a milder case.

Ingredients

Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Beeswax, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Oil, Polyglyceryl-3 Palmitate, Polyglyceryl-2 Caprate, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance (Parfum).

The main ingredients

As you can see this is Sweet Almond Oil based, this oil is a light, hypoallergenic oil. It can easily penetrate deep into the skin, softening and dislodging the dirt and debris accumulated in the skin pores.

Coconut is actually near the end of the list of ingredients, even though the name is Yes to Coconut. It has several other skin loving oils in this products as well. All are oils to help dissolve the makeup and keep skin moisturized.

Directions

Repurpose the sponge it comes with, it really isn’t great and doesn’t work well. Scoop out a small amount and rub it all around your face including your eyes. It doesn’t sting and it removes even waterproof mascara. You may have to add a bit more balm to remove the waterproof mascara. Add a bit of water and it emulsifys nicely. The skin is still hydrated and ready for the second cleanse.

Conclusion

I really do like this cleansing balm and it does work well. It is different than the Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing balm in a few ways:

  • The texture is different, this one is way softer and it is not as smooth
  • This one has a scent, not a bad scent (smells like coconuts)
  • It takes a bit more water to emulsify but not much
  • Price point

I am sure you will like this cleansing balm as much as I do even if you a different skin type than I do. It should be great for all skin types and the price point is in a good range.
